August 21-The Knee bones connected to what?

Where to begin, a long long time ago in a far off land…just kidding!   O.K let’s start with Tuesday and my orthopedic appointment and the ginormous dark blue pantaloons they give you to wear.   We are in the Carolina’s people, at least give me Carolina blue to wear.  Anyway… they took standing x-rays of my left knee and it looks like George has a relative that moved in in the form of a large dark area.  An MRI has been ordered for Tuesday and then the follow up later the same day.   Now we are not certain yet but there is an irony in all of this, when I went for chemo today the doc measured George and HE is shrinking!!!   Hip Hip Hooray for chemo!!!

O.K, let’s go over today’s adventure.   Mama Judy couldn’t be there because she had a doctors appointment but daddy was there and my mom Lila was also.  Can we say WEIRD?  I bet the last time it was the 3 of us was when I was 3, so no one was talking and I said “Lila meet Lester, Lester meet Lila”  now I thought that was funny but alas I was the only one laughing.   Off we go to the lab for blood work, never felt the needle go in, awesome phlebotomist.   Next stop the doc,  he’s funny and always opens the door slow to peek in, he never knows who or how many will be waiting for him!   As I said, he measured George and he IS shrinking, my calcium levels went from 13 to 9 with just 3 treatments, I think the doc was more excited than I was but I know that God is in all of this so I wasn’t really surprised.

Next stop, infusion lab…different nurse this time( that you very much,) she got it the first time and gave me some interesting information as to why my veins weren’t as visible as before and why my mouth is dryer than the Sahara Dessert.   60 mg of morphine 2x a day!  Well now I can stop the morphine because the chemo is slowing the cancer which was causing the pain.   Do you see a pattern here?   I slept through the treatment again, this time it also included Zometa for my “bones, my bones, my dry bones!!”   All in all I have had a great day.  Mom Lila treated me to lunch at Golden Corral and then we came home so that I could rest.

Extra blessing today, Steve Henry came over and got our outdoor pump connected!!! I can’t thank him enough because Marty and Robert tried but couldn’t get it going.  Steve gave his time and energy to help out a fellow christian and friend, as so many of you have done. I am so blessed.

James 1:22  “Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves”

I can tell you that the people in our church are doers!  Praise God !
