May 10-Mother’s Day (Borrowed gifts from God)

Today is Mother’s Day and my oldest son will be 35 tomorrow, my youngest just turned 32. No matter how long you have been a mother, regardless of how many children you may have, or if you haven’t started a family yet, I can promise you that there is no harder or rewarding position to have title to. Like all mothers I have taken for granted (from time to time) the 2 wonderful gifts that God allowed me to borrow, and I have failed more times than I care to count at being the best mother they desreved. Being diagnosed with cancer caused me to take a deeper and more honest look at what it takes to be a mother, sometimes doing what is right while breaking my heart in the process. I am thankful to be here to share another Mother’s Day with my sons and as a daughter, with my moms.
Take this day and use it to enjoy your children and to thank your mother because you know from experience what it takes to guide your children through the dangerous journey of life. As christians it is even more difficult, we fight against all the ungodly things the world tells our children is “fun” and “acceptable” and sadly most of society agrees. My sons are grown men but I know that I still have some influence in their lives so I plan to use all the time I have left here on earth to do the best that I can as their mother so that some day I will see them again in heaven.
