July 2-Coffee with Margaret

Do we even need to discuss sleep?  Thought not.  Today I had coffee with Margaret, and I was blessed.  I met Margaret when I was in my 20’s, (oh my gosh has it really been that many years?,)  she was the minister at Epworth Methodist church where I attended for a while.   Incidentally, that is also where I met Mrs. Yarborough.   Anyway, It was such a blessing to me just to spend time in her company again,  she’s just one of those people you want to be around.  We talked about cancer, healing, inspiration, testimonies, and the absolute power of God.   When it was time to say our good-byes she prayed with me and I was grateful because there are certain people that, when they pray for you, your heart just swells with the certainty that God is paying attention.

The rest of the day was hectic what with errands, haircuts, and x-rays. I need to say thank you to my friend Bernice for loving me enough to do all the driving and parking in places where I didn’t need to step up and over a curb!  I hope to hear from the doctor about the results before I see him again on the 24th but either way I will keep you informed.  He told us that cancer doesn’t usually go to the knees but that it could, so does it skip my hip and thigh and go straight to the knee? just asking?  And…how in the world do you treat cancer of the knee?  which isn’t really cancer of the knee but breast cancer that took a wrong turn!  Too many questions and not one single answer at the moment.  There are times when I feel like a pinball machine and someone keeps pulling the knob back on the ball, never knowing where it will hit or miss.   I sucked at pinball, still do!

Still, when all is said and done at the end of the day I can honestly say “It is well with my soul”  and only my relationship with Jesus can make it so.
